If you want the easiest and most natural beauty regime, one that you can follow without the work and boredom of exercise, use the Butter Babes Dry Body Brush for lymphatic drainage.  Brushing the skin can break down cellulite while it exfoliates.   You'll have softer skin in days!

Dry brushing is the power-cleanse of the beauty world.  Scads of the most chic crunchy-granola-babes are doing it!   Reason?  Your body continuously sheds skin cells at an amazing rate every minute of day and every night.  Your skin will continue to look dull and dry if you don't get rid of them - they'll just sit there detracting from the natural glow of your skin.   Kepp piling lotion on - no matter how much you use, you'll never get glowing skin if you don't exfoliate.  The perfect way to exfoliate your skin is by dry-brushing before taking a shower.  Not only does dry-brushing exfoliate but it also increases circulation and breaks down stubborn fatty deposits - cellulite.  IN addition exfoliation helps your moisturizer penetrate deep into the skin, thereby locking in natural oils, helping to repair any trouble spots you may have by smoothing out the surface of your skin.

A major component of the body's immune system is the lymphatic system.  It comprises organs, lymph nodes, ducts, and vessels that transport lymph throughout the body.   Numerous lymph vessels run just below the skin.  For that reason, brushing the skin regularly helps to stimulate the normal lymph flow thereby helping the body detoxify naturally.  Called "lymphatic drainage" it is the best beauty regime you can do without exercise!

Dry brushing produces a gentle internal massage that stimulates the other detoxification organs such including the liver, kidneys and lungs.  Dry brushing also increases circulation to the skin and encourages the body's discharge of metabolic waste while it helps support the lymphatic system.  The increased blood flow enters all the areas that you are brushing and increases the electro-magnetic energy helping you to feel energized.

Dry brushing can be done daily, preferably before showering in the morning, because of its energizing affect on the body.

  1. Start by brushing the bottoms of your feet then up your legs in long smooth strokes.  Pass the brush over each section of skin 10 times.
  2. For the best lymph flow, always brush towards the heart/chest area, which is where the lymph system drains.
  3. Repeat the process with the arms, starting with the palms of the hands and brushing up the arm toward the heart.  As with the legs, brush each section of skin 10 times.
  4. Now repeat the process on your abdomen, back and face with gentle strokes for these more delicate areas.
  5. Don't brush too hard! Soft and smooth strokes often work best!  The skin should turn lightly pink, neither red nor irritated.
This whole cycle should take about 3 minutes.  If you prefer, you can do this at a slower pace and take up to 20 minutes - your choice.  Dry skin brushing can be a wonderful, meditative and health promoting practice you can incorporate into your morning or evening ritual - letting you enjoy the benefits - not the least of which is softer, glowing skin.
